Where it began
A pond. A leaf. An idea.
Leefloom was not born in a design studio or a boardroom. It began at the edge of a lotus pond in Sri Lanka, on a quiet afternoon, when a single leaf was pressed between fingers and held up to the light.
The veins. The translucency. The way the light moved through it. There was something there — a pattern so intricate, so effortlessly beautiful, that no human hand could have drawn it. It seemed wrong to replicate it digitally. Wrong to translate it through screens and printers.

The First Experiment
A lotus leaf pressed onto a piece of raw silk. Steamed in a kitchen pot. The result was imperfect — and breathtaking. The idea took root.
Building the Process
Months of experimentation — different leaves, different fabrics, different temperatures. Learning to read what nature was telling us. Failing beautifully, often.
Leefloom is Born
The first collection launches. Each piece handmade, each one unique. The response is immediate — people feel something different when they hold these garments.
Growing Slowly
Still made one at a time. Still steamed by hand. Still surprised by what emerges. We grow at the pace nature allows — never faster than integrity permits.
The philosophy
We didn't invent eco printing.
We fell in love with it.
Eco printing — the art of transferring natural pigments from plants onto fabric using heat and pressure — has existed in various forms across many cultures. We did not discover it. We were discovered by it.
What we brought was an obsession with quality, a deep respect for the process, and a belief that this art form deserved to be treated not as craft, but as couture.
Every decision we make — the leaves we choose, the fabrics we use, the time we allow — is guided by one question: does this honour the nature that makes it possible?

The courage to make one thing really well
In a world that rewards speed, volume, and replication — we chose slowness, scarcity, and singularity. It is not always the easiest path. You cannot rush a steaming. You cannot predict what a leaf will leave behind.
But that unpredictability is precisely the point. It means that every Leefloom garment carries something no brand can manufacture: genuine surprise. The maker was surprised. The wearer will be surprised. And that surprise is real, because it came from nature.
